Ansonia Police to hold child passenger safety clinic Thursday


ANSONIA - A free child passenger safety clinic by appointment only will be held Thursday, Sept. 25, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Ansonia Police Department, 65 Main St.


As part of National Child Passenger Safety Week, the Ansonia Police Department will offer a free child passenger safety clinic to help parents, caregivers and children learn the importance of child car seats, how to properly install them and the appropriate positioning of a child in car seats or booster seats. 

If needed, the clinics will provide individuals with new free child car seats. Appointments are required.

Griffin, Safe Kids to hold child passenger safety clinic Sept. 23


DERBY - As part of National Child Passenger Safety Week, Griffin Health and Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley will offer a free child passenger safety clinic by appointment on Sept. 23 from 3-5 p.m. at 4 Mountain St.(across the street from Griffin Hospital).
Certified child passenger safety technicians will help parents, caregivers and children learn the importance of child car seats, how to properly install them and the appropriate positioning of a child in car seats or booster seats.
If needed, the clinics will provide individuals with new free child car seats.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, every 32 seconds, a child under the age of 13 in a passenger vehicle is involved in a crash. Many times, injuries and deaths can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters, and seat belts.

Griffin Health to hold child safety seat clinics in Naugatuck, Derby


DERBY - As part of National Child Passenger Safety Week, Griffin Health, and Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley will offer free child passenger safety clinics by appointment on Saturday, Sept. 16 in Naugatuck and Tuesday, Sept. 19 in Derby.


The clinics will help parents, caregivers and children learn the importance of child car seats, how to properly install them and the appropriate positioning of a child in car seats or booster seats.


The Sept. 16 clinic will be from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Griffin Faculty Physicians, 131 Bridge St., Naugatuck, and the Sept. 19 clinic will be from 3-5 p.m. at 4 Mountain St. (across the street from Griffin Hospital).

Appointments are required.

Griffin Hospital in Derby to host child seat check clinic

DERBY - In recognition of National Child Passenger Safety Week and to raise awareness about Connecticut’s new child passenger safety law, Griffin Hospital’s Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley Coalition will host a free Child Passenger Seat Check Clinic from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday. 

The clinic will be held at Griffin’s Community Outreach offices, 4 Mountain St. (across the street from the hospital). 
National Child Passenger Safety Week is from Sept. 17-23.

Representatives from Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley and Griffin Hospital, along with state legislators will be present to assist and observe the clinic. 
Griffin’s Safe Kids hosts Child Passenger Safety Clinics twice a month to assist families with installation of their car/booster seats. 

Through grants from Safe Kids Worldwide, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, and car seat manufacturers like Graco, Griffin is able to provide a free seat to families in need. 

Griffin also works with partner organizations, such as TEAM, Inc., VNASCC, WIC, School Readiness Councils, and other organizations to identify families.
