Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton to show 'The Long Game' Friday


The film for Nov. 1 is "The Long Game."
The film for Nov. 15 is "Titanic: The Musical."
The Plumb Memorial Library is offering a bimonthly “Friday Films” series on Fridays at 1 p.m.
The films will be viewed in the downstairs Meeting Room. The Library is at 65 Wooster St.
No registration is required and light refreshments will be served.

Ansonia Police Department urges drivers to watch for trick or treaters

The Ansonia Police Department wants to remind ALL drivers to be extra careful this Halloween evening. 

Remember that there will be many children on our roadways and sidewalks tonight. Special attention in the Wakelee Avenue area where we expect large numbers of children and drivers that will be rerouting to avoid traffic on Route 8. 

Please be careful and let's all have an enjoyable evening. Happy Halloween!

DERBY - Derby Public Library invites young adults ages 12 to 17 to YA Wednesdays, Teen Game Time from 6-7:30 pm. Nov. 6 and 13.

Nintendo Wii and tabletop games are available. 

Light refreshments will be provided.

Ansonia Police respond to report of armed suspect at Ansonia HIgh School


UPDATE at 1:45 p.m.: All schools are safe, no threat was found. The "swatting call" is under investigation.

Multiple school systems have received similar threats today in Connecticut. Schools will be dismissed on normal schedule per the Ansonia Superintendent.


ANSONIA - The Ansonia Police Department is responding to a report of an armed suspect at Ansonia High School.

The school has been put into lockdown. Officers on scene are reporting no issues at the school and this is an apparent "Swatting" call. There have been multiple calls of this nature throughout the region today.

Officers are also checking each of the schools in town.
