Huntington Branch Library in Shelton to host Family Finance workshop


SHELTON - John Esposito returns to the Huntington Branch on Sept. 23 for a workshop dedicated to financial planning for families with children of all ages.

Family Finance: Before, During, and After Children is a comprehensive guide that addresses the financial implications of parenthood at every stage with open discussion.

The presentation will zero in on three key focus areas including: financial preparedness before starting a family, strategies for managing finances while raising children, and guidance on financial planning once children have left home.

Overall, the workshop aims to empower parents to make informed financial decisions throughout their family's lifecycle. It provides practical advice and tools to help families achieve financial stability and security.

Derby Public Library offers access to financial ratings database


Protect Your Piggy Bank with Weiss Financial Ratings - 
Viewable as of 9 a.m. Sept 20

Paige Grillo provides a deep dive into the functionality of the database and how to create an account, set up a watchlist for your bank, insurance company, stocks and mutual funds, how to create research tools (screeners) and run a Medigap report.

Weiss Financial Ratings is the Library's newest online database.

Derby Public Library slates financial awareness webinar on Zoom

DERBY - Rebecca Miller from the Financial Awareness Foundation will lead a webinar from 6-7 p.m. Sept. 16 via Zoom hosted by Derby Public Library.
