Ansonia mayor announces parking ban starting at 6 p.m. today

ANSONIA - Effective 6 p.m. today, Jan. 28, 2022, Mayor David Cassetti has instituted a parking ban for the City of Ansonia in preparation for the pending snowstorm. 

The parking ban will last until 6: p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022. There will be no parking allowed on any city street and cars in violation will be towed. 

The City has made available the following city owned parking lots for residents to use during the parking ban.

          Nolan Field - Wakelee Avenue

          Ansonia Middle School – Howard Avenue

          Main Street Municipal Lot

          West Main Street Municipal Lot

          East Main Street Municipal Lot

          Former Ansonia Police Department – 2 Elm Street

          Ansonia High School – Pulaski Highway

          Prendergast School – Finney Street

          Mead School – Ford Street

All vehicles parked in the City owned lots listed above, must be removed at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022 or they will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Ansonia rejuvenates Abe Stone Park, Colony Pond site

ANSONIA - Mayor David S. Cassetti’s promise to rejuvenate Abe Stone Park and Colony Pond continues with lining of two on-site parking lots, repairing and repainting of basketball court, and installation of a boat dock. 

Numerous other improvements have begun and will be completed in the coming weeks including adding volleyball, hiking trails, picnic tables and grills.

The improvements are being funded by the Mayor’s new City Beautification Fund with generous donations from Home Depot, Regional Water Authority, Frank Pepe Construction, ION Bank, Southern Connecticut Dental Group, United Illuminating, Eversource, Homa Pump Technology, and collectible Wakelee Avenue Trolley Track sales.
