Annual tea at Griffin Hospital in Derby to benefit Women's Health Initiative

DERBY - Get a head start on Mother's Day by spending an enjoyable afternoon with your family April 30 at the Women's Health Initiative Tea Fundraiser.
Hosted by members of the Women's Health Initiative to benefit the Valley Breast Health Care Fund, the Tea will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Dining Room at Griffin Hospital, 130 Division St.
The event will feature a variety of savory, sophisticated foods, raffles, and door prizes.
And be sure to wear a favorite hat for the “Best Hat Award!”

The Tea is open to all everyone - men and women, wives and husbands, mothers, daughters, and granddaughters.
Guest speakers include Elizabeth Johnson, of Bigelow Tea, who will talk about the new line of “wellness” teas, and Dr. Devika Jajoo, of Jefferson Radiology, who will discuss the latest news on mammograms and breast health.
This year’s event is co-chaired by Patricia Tarasovic and Kate Cosgrove.

Cost is $30 per person. Reserve your seat by contacting Nancy at 203-734-6945 or nvbv@hotmail.com or Dorothy at 203-233-7639 or dott.g@hotmail.com. Donations are also welcome.
The Women's Health Initiative is comprised of members of the community working toward a common goal of addressing and improving women's health issues.
The Valley Breast Health Care Fund was established in 2001 to ensure that no person, regardless of age or socio-economic condition, is denied screening mammograms or diagnostic testing for breast cancer.
The Initiative recently expanded its support to include those seeking assistance with diagnosed breast cancer related services such as wigs, transportation and groceries.
In addition to Cosgrove, Tarasovic and Johnson, members include Initiative Co-chair Dr. Stephanie Wain, Daun Barrett, Darlene Breving, Carey Carpino, Christine Cooper, Dolores Chew, Karen Cusick, Dorothy Gandy, Antoinetta Hallett, Lisa Kechijian, Peggy Marlowe, Frank Michaud, and Nancy Valentine.

Membership in the Women’s Health Initiative is open to all interested persons.
