BHcare slates opening of HOPE Family Justice Center in New Haven

NEW HAVEN - BHcare’s The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services will launch a soft opening Tuesday of the HOPE Family Justice Center at the City of New Haven’s Opportunity Center, 316 Dixwell Ave.

HFJC will be open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

HFJC consists of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who work together, under one roof, to provide coordinated services to victims of family violence.
The center will provide one place where victims can go to talk to an advocate, plan for their safety, interview with a police officer, meet with a prosecutor, receive medical assistance, receive information on shelter, and get help with transportation.

“Our fundraising campaign has begun and we are excited to make the HFJC a reality,” said Julie Johnson, HFJC Project Coordinator.
“Our goal is to open a permanent site in March of 2019.”
