Derby Neck Library to present holiday recipes, Tech Talks, writers' workshop, more

Derby Neck Library

DERBY - The Derby Neck Library, 307 Hawthorne Ave. will present “Holiday Quiche and Appetizers with Dana Joy" from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 15.

Recipes of Joy’s famous quiche will be available, with an emphasis on fall and holiday special flavors.  
She will have her recipe book for sale and signing. Free quiche samples will be shared by all attendees.  
Registration is required.

Women's Forum  
From 12:30-1:30 p.m. Nov. 16, the Library hosts “Women’s Forum,” a literary discussion group that focuses on short stories.  
This month we have two short stories by a contemporary author; copies are available at the library. Feel free to bring a light lunch; we serve free coffee and tea.

Tech Talks
At 6 p.m. Nov. 16 and again at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 18 the Library presents “Tech Talks” a monthly program that keeps you up to date with what is the newest in technology and how to best fit it into your own needs.  
This month’s topic is PC assembly.

Bedtime Music and Movement
The Library presents “Bedtime Music and Movement” with Miss Kathi at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18.  
Wear your jammies and bring a favorite stuffed animal. We will dance and sing together under our indoor stars.  

Writers' Round
The Library hosts “Writers’ Round” a workshop devoted to authors of all genres—fiction, poetry, history, scripts, non-fiction and more at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19.  
We write from a prompt each session and share our original works.  

Evening Book Club
The Library hosts the “Evening Book Club” at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30.
This group meets on the last Monday of each month in the library’s Reading Room, by the fireplace. We share our ideas on shorter books of fiction, memoir, and inspirational topics.  
This month we discuss “The Bookshop” by Penelope Fitzgerald.  
Copies are available at the library.  
Join us for a stimulating and entertaining talk.
