Valley United Way sessions to focus on finances
SHELTON - There are only two sessions left in Valley United Way's Fall Financial Education Series to be held at Valley United Way office, 54 Grove St.
The first program at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 is entitled “Are You Prepared for the Financial Challenges of Retirement?”
The program will help provide answers to three key challenges faced by those preparing to retire or already retired – financial vulnerability, longevity and taxes.
At 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10, Shelton Attorney Tom Sutnik, also a former probate judge, will be back to present a very popular program on estate planning which will include recent developments. Sutnik practices in estates, trusts and probate matters.
The programs are part of Valley United Way’s ongoing efforts to offer a periodic series of workshops and seminars designed to help individuals and families with their finances.
United Way is partnering with leading experts in all areas of economic importance to provide the free series of programs.
These are educational programs for the benefit of the participants and no solicitation is involved. Funding for the program has come from the Pitney Bowes Foundation.

DERBY - The Derby Public Library holds weekly Local History Information Sessions on
Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. and from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesdays.
During these scheduled times Mary Bisaccia, the Library’s Local History Coordinator, offers information on monthly highlighted topics.
November’s topic will be Monuments to Derby Veterans.
Assistance will also be available for research on topics such as genealogy, prominent local figures,
major area events, and more.
