Friends of Derby Neck Library to hold bus trip to NYC museums

DERBY - The Friends of Derby Neck Library will hold a bus trip May 18 to The Cloisters and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Travel by deluxe motor coach to two of the premiere art museums in the country. 
The bus leaves the Derby High School parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and returns at 5:30 p.m.
The fee for the bus and entry into both museums is $90. Seats are filling fast. 
Lunch is on your own at the Metropolitan Museum Café.

'Yesterday's Headlines' program slated at Derby Public Library


DERBY - The Derby Historical Society will join with Derby Public Library to present 'Yesterday's Headlines' at 6:30 p.m. March 11 at the library, 313 Elizabeth St.

Local historian Rob Novak, Jr. will take participants back to 1919, 1944, and 1969 to see what was happening locally 100, 75, and 50 years ago in the Valley.

Novak is past director of the Derby Historical Society and the City of Shelton’s Municipal Historian.

In addition, he has authored four
books thru Arcadia Publications and has been a popular historical columnist.
