Ansonia mayor issues code red parking ban alert for impending snowstorm

Good afternoon this is Mayor Dave Cassetti along with Superintendent Tim Holman, with a Code Red alert from the City of Ansonia.
Due to the impending snowstorm on Saturday evening into Sunday morning, the City of Ansonia is enacting a parking ban on all city streets from 5 p.m. Saturday to 12 p.m. on Sunday.
Residents are reminded that no vehicle may be parked on a city street during this time. All public and school parking lots are open for parking. Any vehicles must be removed from school parking lots by 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9 to prepare for school operations on Monday.
The storm is predicted to drop anywhere from 5-10 inches of snow which will cause further narrowing of the city streets. The public works department will be both plowing and widening the streets during the parking ban.
