Rochelle offers update on campgrounds, absentee ballots

All Connecticut campgrounds have officially begun a phased opening.

Campers must make reservations in advance of their stay and walk-in visitors will not be permitted on the sites.
For more information and to reserve your spot, click here.

The Secretary of the State recently mailed out applications to all registered Democrats and Republicans to provide individuals the opportunity to request an absentee ballot for the upcoming presidential primary.

This measure will protect your safety and right to vote during the ongoing pandemic.

Naugatuck Valley Health District: No new COVID-19 associated deaths

Sharing message from Jessica Stelmaszek, MPH:

Attached please find the latest update on behalf of the Naugatuck Valley Health District.

Highlights:
  • 3 new cases reported today [Friday]
  • No new deaths reported

Additionally, as Tropical Storm Fay inches closer to CT, please be safe and remember if you approach a flooded road, path, or walkway follow this rule: Turn Around, Don’t Drown®. Just six inches of moving water can knock an adult off their feet and as little as 12 inches of moving floodwater can be enough to float and carry away a small vehicle!

SHELTON - Celebrate Shelton creators Nicole Mikula, Michael Skrtic, and Jimmy Tickey have scheduled a one-night, virtual Downtown Sounds Summer Concert at 5 p.m. July 17.

The evening will kick-off with Kids Hour with Danny Magic, followed by live music from Phat A$tronaut, The Alpaca Gnomes, and other performers to be announced.
Hailing from New Haven, Phat A$tronaut is an organically grown, experimental soul ensemble that certainly won’t disappoint.

The Alpaca Gnomes is a vibrant, foot-stomping seven-piece original rock/folk/jam band out of Bridgeport consisting of violin, electric and acoustic guitar/vocals, bass, drums, percussion and saxophone.

The four-hour livestream can be found LIVE on Celebrate Shelton’s Facebook page (@CelebrateShelton) and on bit.ly/CelebrateSheltonLIVE at 5 p.m. July 17.

This event is made possible by Liberty Bank, Tuttle Insurance, MKDEVO Productions, Center Stage Theatre, the City of Shelton, Gardner Heights, Hawks Ridge of Shelton, D'Addario of Shelton, Curtis Ryan Honda of Shelton, Marks of Design, Cohen & Thomas, Christopher Douglas, Venmo & Co., and the Boys Scouts of America Housatonic Council.

Celebrate Shelton was formed in 2014 by small business owners Nicole Mikula, Michael Skrtic and Jimmy Tickey.
The organization focuses on community arts engagement in Shelton and over the last six years has hosted Downtown Sounds Summer Concerts, Food Trucks on the River, Mamas & Mimosas, and the annual Community Tree Lighting.
This year, in light of COVID-19, the group developed a Virtual Downtown Sounds Concert in place of their usual three-week concert series.
Celebrate Shelton events are free and family-friendly. For more information, visit CelebrateShelton.com.
