As the cold weather approaches, many early-morning workers warm up their vehicles before heading out. Thieves know this — and they look for running, unattended cars.

The Shelton Police Department reminds you:

• Never leave your vehicle running unattended

• Use remote start when possible (doors stay locked)

• Keep your keys and key fob with you

• Stay with your vehicle while it warms

• Park in well-lit areas
