Newsletter highlights grand opening at Basement Systems in Seymour

Dear readers,

Today's Valley Voice newsletter highlights innovative entrepreneur Larry Janesky and a celebration of the opening of his ninth building in Silvermine Industrial Park in Seymour.

It also features my journalism mentor and longtime editor Bob Pollack's reaction to attending a press conference at Yale-New Haven Hospital that announced my participation in an 18-kidney exchange.

Thanks as always for reading,

Patti

Renovations moving along at Humphreys House in Ansonia

ANSONIA - Derby Historical Society executive director Paula Norton Friday posted photos on Facebook of Humphreys House renovations, and I'm using part of the post here with her permission.

My husband, Ralph, serves on the board of the Derby Historical Society, and our daughter, Allegra, has worked there as a docent.
(She is at left in photo).

We all love the Gen. David Humphreys House at 37 Elm St., and I'm happy to publicize the progress being made!

Recuperation journey: Natural Aging Process

When I was wide awake during the night I dreamed up an acronym - NAP. ðŸ’¤ ðŸ’¤ ðŸ’¤

It suddenly occurred to me what NAP stands for: Natural Aging Process.

Remember when you were little and you'd fight that afternoon nap the grownups would insist that you take?

These days an afternoon nap can be downright glorious. I'll never fight that idea, especially now, post-transplant, when I'm trying my best to take care of my health.

Naps soften the blow of the natural aging process we all experience, I'd say.

Who's with me?
