Derby Public Library discussion to feature Skype conversation with novelist

DERBY - Derby Public Library will host a special monthly Lunchtime Book Discussion at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 29.
It will include a conversation via Skype with New York Times' bestselling author of more than 20 novels, Karen White.

White's roots run deep in the South where many of her novels are set.
Her intricate plot lines and compelling characters charm and captivate readers with just the right mix of family drama, mystery, intrigue, and romance.
White will be discussing her novel “Flight Patterns.”
This mesmerizing tale tells the story of a woman coming home to the family she left behind - and to the woman she always wanted to be.
Georgia realizes something has been missing -and unless she finds a way to heal these rifts, she will forever be living vicariously through other people’s remnants.
To embrace her own life - mistakes and all - she will have to find the courage to confront the ghosts of her past and the secrets she was forced to keep.

It's a book that is hard to put down until the last secret is uncovered and the last mystery resolved. The true beauty of White’s writing comes in her creation of characters.
Participants are welcome to ask White any questions they may have.

Lunchtime Book Discussions are held the last Wednesday of the month and are free and open to the public.
Multiple copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk.
Drop-ins are welcome - no registration required.
The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.
