Master's Table to offer meal Sunday at Huntington Congregational Church


FREE MEAL

When: Sunday, May 17 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. (or until food runs out)
Where: Huntington Congregational Church, 19 Church St., Shelton
Must be present to receive a meal.
Park car and enter church hall. If you are unable to exit your car or don't want to come inside, please speak to our volunteers outside and they will bring out your meal.
Pick up meal and browse giveaway table. You can eat your takeout meal inside but bring your own beverage.

Presentation teaches Ansonia High School students about robotic surgery


A Presentation in Surgical Precision

Griffin Faculty Physicians surgeon Dr. Leeland Soto recently provided Ansonia High School students the opportunity to learn about advances in robotic surgery, including providing them with a hands-on opportunity to operate the state-of-the-art da Vinci Robotic Surgical System used at Griffin Hospital.

The Robotic-Assisted Surgery Program at Griffin Hospital is a multidisciplinary surgical team of specially trained and credentialed surgeons along with a highly experienced team of anesthesiologists, nurses, assistants, and surgical techs who are trained to support each surgeon’s needs during robotic-assisted surgery. 

Griffin's da Vinci Robotic-Assisted Surgery Service Lines include: Bariatric Surgery; Cardiac Surgery; Colorectal Surgery; General Surgery; Gynecologic Surgery; and Head & Neck Surgery.

UPDATE from Ansonia Police: Angel Montanez, the missing person from this morning's press release has been located.

ANSONIA - The Ansonia Police Department is looking for the public’s assistance in locating Angel Montanez, an Ansonia resident who went to work on Wednesday morning, 5/13/2026, but never returned home after work. 


Montanez is a Hispanic white male with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds, with multiple tattoos on his neck, right hand and arm. 
Last contact was with a co-worker in Bridgeport at 4:30 p.m. on Lafayette Boulevard. Montanez drives a 2005 Toyota Avalon color gray bearing CT license plate BP88383.
