Ansonia High School music department slates 2 free performances in March, April

From the desk of Maria Tangredi, Choral, Band, and Music Director:

The AHS Music Department has two free performances coming up.
Our 2nd annual Choral Coffeehouse will be held at 6 p.m. March 21 in the atrium with performances by our AHS Mixed Chorus and the winners of the AHS Talent Show.
This performance is a celebration of Arts in Our Schools Month and will be highlighted with contributions from Mrs. Cianciolo's students and from Ms. Feliconio's students.
On April 23, our band students will present an Instrument Petting Zoo in the atrium as part of our 2nd annual Band Expo, beginning at 6 p.m. for anyone curious in trying a musical instrument for the first time!
This demonstration will be followed by a performance featuring our AHS Concert Band, as well as AMS Band students, and possibly our newest elementary band students!
We hope that you and your families will be able to attend both of these events!

St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Shop and Food Bank decluttering challenge starts today

Each day of Lent, fill a bag or box with things you no longer use/need and donate to our thrift shop that supports our very busy food pantry!

Did you know that in 2023 we distributed 263,994 pounds of food - produce, meats, dairy, bread, and nonperishables - to in-need residents of Derby, Shelton, Ansonia, Seymour, and Oxford? That's 22% more than the year before!

Also, worn out clothing can be recycled by us (bag and label separately please)
Open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., 237 Roosevelt Drive, Derby.

Donation bin available for after hours.

TEAM seeks gift basket items for Meals on Wheels program clients

It's that time of year! TEAM is beginning to put together holiday gift baskets for our Meals on Wheels clients - 220 of them!

This is something we do each year to give our homebound, older adults a surprise and a smile, and a reminder that their community cares about and values them.
Are you willing to donate any of these items to fill our baskets? Email lmckenzie@teaminc.org.
Donations are due March 15, and we ask that you let us know what you are planning to donate so we minimize any duplication. Thank you
