3 Ansonia officers complete Police Unity Tour, arrive in Washington, D.C.

Update: Lt. Barreira, Sgt. Nelson, and Officer Perez of the Ansonia PD have completed the 300-mile Police Unity Tour to Washington, D.C. and have met up with thousands of other riders from across the globe on their final miles to the National Law Enforcement Memorial for the ceremony today.

Congratulations to all of the riders.

Note date change: Griffin Center for Healthy Living to hold presentation on protein


OXFORD - Griffin Center for Healthy Living Teaching Kitchen will host a free program on the health benefits of protein-rich meals.

The Power of Protein will be held at 5 p.m. May 27 at The Griffin Center for Healthy Living at Quarry Walk, 300 Oxford Road.


In recognition of Women’s Health Month, former executive director of Massaro Farm and sustainable nutrition expert Caty Poole will discuss the importance of protein in healthy eating, especially for older adults, and what recent studies show particularly for women. 

Poole will also demonstrate how to make a Tempeh Bolognese and Mediterranean Parmesan White Bean dish to highlight plant-based proteins.
