Soupstock festival in Shelton features fun for all ages


Soupstock, a music, arts, and food festival, opened Saturday in downtown Shelton. The seventh annual event continues from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Veterans Memorial Park on Canal Street.



Handmade hula hoops, anyone?


Valley Arts Council President Rich DiCarlo paints a fictitious ball player Saturday. He is creating a series of paintings of a unique baseball team.

Sip and Paint in Seymour to benefit Treasured Time

This is the painting that Sip and Paint participants will create.

SEYMOUR - Lizzie's Corner, 19 Bank St., will host a fun Sip and Paint event from 6-10 p.m. Aug. 11.
 
Kokopelli Music and Arts Studio will be donating a portion of the proceeds to Treasured Time, and 20 percent of all sales at the shop also will be donated to this very special cause.

The local non-profit Treasured Time helps grant the wishes of parents with life-threatening illnesses who want to create a lasting memory with their children.
