Turnback Tuesday (on Wednesday) features Alling brothers of Derby

Turnback Tuesday looks at two prominent brothers of Derby. Amos H. (born 1823) and Charles B. (born 1824) Alling of, A.H. & C. B. Alling.
The two formed a partnership in 1845 and then moved their business to Derby in 1858 because of the water power available.
They manufactured woolen hosiery and underwear. The business was at the corner of Caroline and Main Streets and lasted until 1912.

*Thanks as always to the Derby Public Library staff for sharing interesting local history with the community each week!
