Newsletter highlights quick work of Ansonia emergency workers


Dear readers,

The latest Valley Voice is now out. It features Ralph's account of a motor vehicle accident he was in last week, and the quick work of emergency personnel.

Breakfast with Santa in Oxford to benefit CT Partnership for Children


CT Kids Closet holiday event at Warsaw Park in Ansonia to benefit FISH


ANSONIA - CT Kids Closet will hold an event Nov. 18 and 19 at Warsaw Park, 125 Pulaski Highway with a holiday twist. 

The organization is pairing with local charities and vendors to make this event extra special.
There will be raffles and silent auctions.
A magician will perform for the kids at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 19, there will be face painting and Mr. and Mrs. Santa will be there with arts and crafts too! 

Yes, there will be the usual consignment sale, but with new and "regiftable" items for the whole family! 

Gently used party and holiday clothing, housewares, decorations, and more. The "re-giftable" items will be new.

Admission is free from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 19.
There will be a pre-sale event from 7-9 p.m. Nov. 18.


Admission for the pre-sale event is $20. Tickets may be purchased at the door. 
For this evening event there will be food tastings. Swag bags will be given to the first 100 to enter, amazing raffles, and silent auctions items.There will be a jazz band to entertain while you shop and snack. 
Proceeds from the raffles and auctions will support FISH of Greater New Haven. 

With the $20 entry fee you will receive a raffle ticket. You can also receive additional raffle tickets for donations of bags of non-perishable groceries. 
Additional raffle tickets may be purchased at the event.

Movies, resume writing offered at Derby Public Library



DERBY - The Derby Public Library offers Resume “Right”-ing Workshops at 6 :30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.
During these sessions, participants are welcome to either 
start from scratch or bring copies of their existing resumes, cover letters as well, for review and optimizing.  

Often a new resume can be created simply by making a number of subtle tweaks versus a whole new change.

The next class will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7.  
Registration is not required.  

Movie matinees continue
The Library continues its weekly Wednesday Movie Matinees series for ages 18 and over.
Newly released DVDs will be shown every Wednesday at 
1 p.m. Light snacks will be provided.  
Registration is requested.

Healthy Living Extravaganza planned at Woodbridge Senior Center

WOODBRIDGE - New England Young at Heart will host a Healthy Living Extravaganza from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Senior Center gymnasium, 4 Meetinghouse Lane.

Admission is free. 
There will be raffles, and a boxed lunch for the first 50 people. Vendors welcome.
