DERBY - Join us [at Derby Neck Library] as we watch one of Alfred Hitchcock’s greatest  masterpieces, Notorious (1946), starring Ingrid Bergman, Cary Grant, and Claude Rains. 

This spy thriller features some of Hitchcock’s most compelling morally gray characters and several of his most heart-stoppingly beautiful shots.

DERBY - Join us at Derby Neck Library for the exciting pre-code thriller American Madness (1932) at 3:30 p.m. Monday.

The film is an early collaboration between director Frank Capra and writer Robert Riskin that anticipates many of the themes of their later masterpiece, It's A Wonderful Life. 

Starring Walter Huston and an exceptional supporting cast. Hot, fresh popcorn will be served!

Seymour Public Library to show 'Crimson Tide' thriller Wednesday

SEYMOUR - Join us at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Seymour Public Library to watch a movie! 

Light refreshments will be served. The Library is at 46 Church St. 

We'll be showing "Crimson Tide" starring Denzel Washington, Gene Hackman, George Dzundza, Viggo Mortensen, James Gandolfini, and Matt Craven. It is rated R and its duration is 2 hours, 3 minutes. 

Summary: After the Cold War, a breakaway Russian republic with nuclear warheads becomes a possible worldwide threat. 

U.S. submarine Capt. Frank Ramsey signs on a relatively green but highly recommended Lt. Cmdr. Ron Hunter to the USS Alabama, which may be the only ship able to stop a possible Armageddon. 

When Ramsay insists that the Alabama must act aggressively, Hunter, fearing they will start rather than stop a disaster, leads a potential mutiny to stop him.

Seymour Public Library slates showing of 2022 mystery thriller movie

SEYMOUR - Join us in the lower level auditorium of Seymour Public Library at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 7 for a movie! 

Light refreshments will be served.

We'll be showing a 2022 American mystery thriller romantic drama film starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson, Michael Hyatt, Sterling Macer, Jr., and David Strathairn. 

It is rated PG-13 and its duration is two hours, five minutes.

Summary: A woman who raised herself in the marshes of the deep South becomes a suspect in the murder of a man she was once involved with.

Derby Public Library's virtual lunchtime book discussion to feature thriller

DERBY - Derby Public Library virtual lunchtime book discussion slated at 12:30 p.m. June 30 features The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. 

The Silent Patient is a mix of Hitchcockian suspense, Agatha Christie plotting, and Greek tragedy.
