SEYMOUR - Join us at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Seymour Congregational Church before the Super Bowl for a bowl of soup! It will be a community meal held in Fellowship Hall. 

There's a seat at the table for you. All are welcome.

ANSONIA - FUMC Social at First United Methodist Church will host an appetizer contest at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 4 at the church, 47 Franklin St.

Does your game day appetizer have what it takes to go all the way?
Also, you'll have an opportunity to paint your favorite team's logo to cheer them on (doesn't have to be the teams in the Super Bowl).

Super Bowl benefit slated at Chifrijo for Leah Rondon Memorial Scholarship Fund

ANSONIA - Leah Marie Rondon, age 6, was a lifelong resident of Ansonia.

She was a kindergarten graduate of John C. Mead Elementary School and attended the Valley YMCA Preschool.

The Leah Rondon Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating female student at Kolbe Cathedral High School in Bridgeport where Leah's father, Henry Rondon, is an administrator.

The Leah Rondon Fund is housed at the Valley Community Foundation and is designed to benefit Ansonia youth.

Chifrijo Restaurant is located at 242 Main St.

Scouts in Derby to hold annual Super Bowl Sunday sub sale

Derby Scouts to sell subs on Super Bowl Sunday

Boy Scout Troop 3 in Derby to hold 28th annual Super Bowl Sub sale

DERBY - Boy Scout Troop 3, Derby knows a thing or two about the Super Bowl and about making delicious submarine sandwiches.

Super Bowl I and II champion Bob Skoronski, who was a captain of the Green Bay Packers, is an alumnus of the Derby Troop. Also, the Scouts have held a Super Bowl Sub sale for the past 28 years.
The Derby scouts are taking orders for one-foot subs ($7.50) and five-foot party subs ($65). They will be made to order and will be home delivered Feb. 4 anywhere in the Lower Naugatuck Valley.
The fundraiser will assist boys in attending summer camp at Housatonic Council BSA's Edmund D. Strang Scout Reservation in Goshen. Orders due by Jan. 31 and forms are available at www.troop3derby.org.

A Valley tradition continues ...
DERBY -  Boy Scout Troop 3 and Venture Crew 33 are accepting orders for one-foot and five-foot double-wide party sub sandwiches as part of their annual Super Bowl Sub Sale fundraiser.

The subs are made to order and home delivered anywhere in the Lower Naugatuck Valley Feb. 7. 
All orders must be received by Feb. 3. 

One-foot subs are $7 each and the five-foot, double-wide party subs are $65. 
Proceeds from the sale will help the Scouts attend the Edmund D. Strang Scout Reservation summer camp in Goshen and a Caribbean sailing adventure.

Troop 3 is sponsored by Derby Second Congregational Church and Venture Crew 33 is sponsored by the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club.
