Land Stewards to cut invasive plant at Ansonia Nature Center


Stewardship Series 1: Nix the Knotweed  – July 6, 10 a.m.
Join the Ansonia Nature Center’s Land Stewards Team and help us in our 3-year effort to restore the park’s land.
Japanese Knotweed is an invasive plant and a threat to our Nature Center habitats and waterways. We will gather as a team to do a carbohydrate starvation cut to select sensitive knotweed-infested areas.
Please bring loppers or a harvesting knife. Afterward, we will have pizza and s’mores in Pavilion #2.
For ages 12 and up (accompanied by an adult).
The Nature Center is at 10 Deerfeield Lane.

Help needed in habitat restoration efforts at Ansonia Nature Center


ANSONIA - Join the Ansonia Nature Center’s “Land Stewards Team” at 9 a.m. Saturday and help us in our efforts in habitat restoration. 

Japanese Knotweed is invasive vegetation that poses a threat to our Nature Center habitats and waterways. We will gather as a team to do a second carbohydrate starvation cut in sensitive Knotweed infested areas.
