First United Methodist Church in Ansonia to hold tag/craft sale; vendors needed


ANSONIA - First United Methodist Church is sponsoring a Tag/Craft Sale from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 21 on the church lawn, 47 Franklin St.

Outdoor vendors are needed. Tables will be rented for $25 for a table, or $40 for two tables.

In case of inclement weather, the sale will be held downstairs in Fellowship Hall. 

To rent/reserve a table, please call the church, 203-734- 0374 and leave a message with your name, number, and a good time to reach you.

Storyteller to share Spiders and Pumpkins! Tales of the Harvest at Derby Neck Library

DERBY - It's that time of year when we're all looking for something just a little spooky.  

Join us [at 1 p.m. Saturday at Derby Neck Library] with storyteller and educator Monica Peterson as she weaves autumn tales from around the world. 

Audience members young and old alike will join her in outwitting a giant pumpkin, laughing at the antics of Anansi the Spider, harvesting an enormous turnip, saving animals from a tricky fox, and more! 
The stories are sure to delight and are not too spooky for little ones.
Registration is required for this in-person, outdoor event, and space is limited.

Outdoor quilt show slated at Osborne Homestead Museum in Derby

DERBY - Members of the Common Thread Quilt Group will hold a Pop of Color outdoor quilt show on the Kellogg Estate grounds, 500 Hawthorne Ave.
The show runs from July 29-Aug. 7. It will pop up on July 29, 30, 31, and Aug. 1,5,6, and 7 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Information about these works of art will be provided to give insight into how they were made and the reason for their design. 
The show is a shine only event; rain will cancel the display for that day but it will return when the sun comes out.

Derrby Public Library to host outdoor tie-dye event for children


DERBY - Derby Public Library to present Color your World tie-dye event for ages 5-12 at 6 p.m.
July 20 with a rain date of July 27.

This in-person, outdoor event is presented by Seymour Blank Canvas. Jamie, who creates her own hand-dyed threads, will help bring color to your world!
Materials are supplied, including a T-shirt. Size chart provided when registering at https://bit.ly/3jXXLxG, which ends July 12.

Beacon Falls Public Library to host craft program for kids on Town Hall Lawn


BEACON FALLS - A program hosted by Beacon Falls Public Library to create a mini enchanted forest jar using moss, pebbles, and decorations is slated June 9 and 10 on the Town Hall lawn, 10 Maple Ave. 


Space is limited; registration is required. There are two dates- June 9 and10 - please select the ticket on Eventbrite for the day that you want to register for.


At this time, we are unable to pick children up from school due to COVID, and we require an adult to be present for the duration for the program.

Derby Public Library to host outdoor Halloween Spooktacular for kids



DERBY - Derby Public Library will host musical artist Jill Kubeck at a fun outdoor event at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 19. Rain date is Oct. 26.
Children ages 3-7 are invited to Jill's Halloween Spooktacular!
Everyone is welcome to wear a costume and participate in this Monster Mash-up of songs and stories centered on a kid-friendly spooky theme.
Families are requested to bring a blanket. Participants are expected to follow CDC guidelines.
The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.
