Lifelong Ansonia resident desperately needs kidney

I cannot say it any better than those friends of Diane who have already written lovingly on Facebook about her urgent need for a kidney.

As a kidney recipient from an altruistic donor nearly six years ago I can commiserate with her plight.

I hope and pray the same good fortune will fall upon Diane and someone will soon come forward to give her the gift of renewed good health.

Shelton resident desperately seeking kidney donor

Since I'm the fortunate recipient of a donated kidney I reached out to Bill McGuire - the Shelton man pictured above with his son - to help publicize his plight.
In a text message Bill said he recently had a fistula implanted and he expects to start having dialysis in April, if a kidney donor does not come forward. He has Type O blood.

Please consider becoming a kidney donor!

Recuperation journey: Thoughts on organ donation

Friday is my 18-month anniversary of receiving a kidney from a wonderful woman I'd never met.
I've since met her, and can't thank her enough for her gift.
I'm marking the day by writing a story to raise awareness of living organ donation.
Please look for it in our next Valley Voice newsletter.
