Teen Zumba on tap Thursdays at Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton

Who wants to get up and MOVE!? Join Miss Amy as she teaches 4 Zumba classes to teens ages 13 and older. Miss Amy is a certified personal trainer who comes to Plumb with a WEALTH of knowledge of all things fitness. She will give teens the basic overview as each class builds upon one another.
Registration required. There are three ways to register.

Massaro Community Farm in Woodbridge to hold beekeeping presentation


WOODBRIDGE - Come meet the new state bee inspector Paula Wolf at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Massaro Community Farm. She'll be at our first bee workshop of the season!
At this first class we'll go over how to handle your new package or nucleus of bees. All classes in person and hands on in our bee yard (weather permitting) where we'll go over all aspects of beekeeping.
Offered by Ted Jones of Jones Apiaries (Farmington), Ted leads you through all steps of beekeeping from spring through fall. Whether you're a newbie or a veteran, all levels and ages welcome.
First class begins at 9:30 a.m. All other classes will begin at 9 a.m. Wear long pants and close-toed shoes (even when it's warm). We have veils and gloves for you to borrow. 
Suggested donation of $10/pp supports ongoing education at Massaro Farm.

SEYMOUR - Join Tiny Food Explorers at 11 a.m. March 4 at Seymour Public Library for an hour of food, fun, and exploration! 
Bring your tiniest chefs, picky eaters and great eaters and create a delicious snack together.
Food Explorers classes provide a no-pressure environment for our littlest eaters to explore food and new flavors. 
Recipes are nut free but may contain dairy, eggs, and gluten.
Best for children ages 3-6. Registration is required and limited.

Registration starts Monday for Nature's Explorers at Ansonia Nature Center


Registration opens Sept. 9. Classes run Thursdays, Sept. 26 and Oct. 3, 10, and 17 at 10 a.m.

Join Ranger Dan, ANC Assistant Director, for this program exploring and learning about nature. This class is loosely structured and is geared towards children who are at least 2-years-old, up to age 5 with an adult explorer. 

Class is indoors and outdoors, and we end with a light snack. 

Space is limited, so click here to register for this program. Please fill out one form per child. 

TUITION: $40 per 4-week session (cash or check payable to Ansonia Nature Center).

Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton offers tai chi for adults on Wednesdays


SHELTON - Plumb Memorial Library is offering Tai Chi workshops for adults. 
They are held on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. in the Library’s Meeting Room. 
The Library is at 65 Wooster St.

The class will be taught by Debbie Wooley, a certified instructor with the Health Institute has been practicing Tai Chi for the past 10 years and been teaching it for five years.
Debbie will be teaching the Tai Chi for Arthritis method which uses the Sun style. Each class will begin and end each class with a series of warm up and cool down exercises. 

There is no prerequisite to participate in this class. No equipment is necessary and participants may do this seated if they feel more comfortable.

The program is free and open to the public.
