Ansonia Police arrest man on child porn possession charge

 ANSONIA - Police arrested Alexander Beardsley, 33, of Prospect Monday on a charge of possession of child pornography. 

The investigation into Beardsley began in 2024 when he was a resident of Ansonia, police said in a release.

During the course of the investigation search warrants were conducted where computers, phones, and various electronic storage devices were seized and examined. 

The examinations resulted in the discovery of over 100 images of child pornography. 

The investigation was led by Det. Mark Clifford with the assistance of the Shelton Police Department, Prospect Police Department, and the State of Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Digital Forensic Unit.

Beardsley was charged with Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material, he was held on a $75,000 bond and was to be arraigned today, Jan. 20, at Derby Superior Court.
All arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Ansonia man charged in child porn investigation

ANSONIA - Police Wednesday served a search warrant on a city residence and an arrest warrant on Joseph Alfano in a child pornography investigation. 

The warrants were the culmination of a four-month long investigation by Det. Mark Clifford. Evidence seized during the search warrant will be examined and may result in additional charges.

 

Joseph Alfano, 28, of Ansonia was charged with possession of child sex abuse material first degree and was held on a $50,000 bond. 

He was to be arraigned Wednesday at Derby Superior Court.

Ansonia Police arrest city resident, 27, on child pornography charges

ANSONIA - Ansonia Police Department arrested Michael Bernaud,  27, of Ansonia for his involvement in a child pornography investigation. Bernaud turned himself in after a warrant was obtained following a lengthy investigation by Det. Mark Clifford. 

Bernaud was charged with possession of child pornography, two counts of enticing a minor by computer, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. 

He is being held on a $150,000 bond and will be presented today, Oct. 9, at Derby Superior Court for arraignment.
