Ansonia Police to take part in Special Olympics Torch Run this afternoon


Keep an eye out for our Ansonia Police Department as they travel from Division at Elm, down and around Main Street, back up to the old PD for a short break, then up to Hilltop Hose Company # 5 to pick up more runners for the Special Olympics Torch Run!

This begins at 2:53 p.m. Thank you APD!

Ansonia Police to participate in CT Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics

The Ansonia Police Department is participating in the Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics today.

Please join us along the route to cheer us on. The route schedule is below.

The route will be traveling in the downtown area so please be advised that between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM today there will be some traffic delays. Thank you.


3:07 PM Main St at Kingston Dr
3:39 AM Main St at Maple St
3:10 PM Turn right onto E Main St
3:42 AME Main St at Kingston Dr
3:16 PM Turn right onto Father Salemi Dr
3:49 AM Father Salemi Dr at Bishop William Ct
3:19 PM Turn left onto Main St 3:54 AM Turn left onto Division St/Elm St Continue to follow Elm St
3:27 PM Elm St at Ansonia PD (10 Minute Break)

Congrats to Derby Police K-9 officer, partner Axel on win in narcotics competition

"Derby PD K-9 Officer John O'Donoghue and his partner Axel participated in the 2021 Dream Ride K-9 Challenge, which is an event hosted to benefit and raise funds for Special Olympics. This year's event was held at the Farmington Country Club in Farmington, CT.
"With over 32 K-9 teams from across the country competing, CONGRATULATIONS to Officer O'Donoghue and Axel who took 1ST PLACE in the narcotics competition!"

Ansonia Police take part in annual torch run today for Special Olympics

"The Ansonia PD participated in the annual torch run for Special Olympics today. Over 1,500 Officers are running and passing the "Flame of Hope" to spread the message of inclusion.

"Thank you to our own Off. J Troesser, her daughter, and Disp. D. Awalt for taking part in this run."
