Sharing from Chris Lengyel: "This Tuesday I'll be starting weekly magic lessons at the Main Street Gallery [at 259 Main St.] in Ansonia. Bring the kids down for a new trick each week. 

"To kick off our lesson, we will be learning the oldest magic trick in the book, as well as a card trick that will fool all of your friends!

"Entry is $15 a person. Lessons start at 5!"

Valley Arts Council seeks artwork donations for fundraising exhibit

CALL FOR ARTISTS: Join us as we launch our Valley Arts Council fundraiser "THE 5'x7' SHOW." We are asking all artists to donate a work of art in any medium, no larger or smaller than 5"x7" to the Main Street Gallery in Ansonia.

All works will be for sale at the standard price of $10.

All proceeds will go to support the VAC! Get in on the fun! Entries accepted through April 30. Exhibit opens May 1.

Ansonia resident asks community to donate items for troops overseas

"I'm collecting small items for our troops overseas and here are some of the items [listed below] that have been requested. If you can find it in your heart to donate any of these items please let me know.

"These soldiers will be in place until April of next year. Letters and kids' drawings are always a hit.

"If you have small children maybe they can draw a picture or make them a Christmas card.

"You can either contact me [Irene Krom-Kirby on Facebook] for pickup or items can be dropped off at Main Street Gallery, 258 Main St., Ansonia across from City Hall at the following times:

"Wednesday/Thursday 4-8 p.m. (after Thanksgiving)

Anytime - Friday 4-8 p.m.; Saturday 1-8 p.m.

ANSONIA - The Valley Arts Council is currently hosting its annual Night Gallery exhibit at Main Street Gallery, 258 Main St.

Hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday through Oct. 31.
