DERBY – Police arrested a Wolcott man they said was part of an illegal street takeover on Pershing Drive.
Dominic Guerrera, 19, was arrested Aug. 23 and charged with disorderly conduct, reckless driving, and illegal racing, according to a Facebook post.
According to police, Derby officers were called to the scene of a street takeover on Pershing Drive near Division Street on Aug. 24, 2024. Police said that street takeover participants approached officers and taunted them, while racing on the street and driving recklessly.
During the incident, police said they identified a white Crown Victoria as one of the vehicles in the takeover. In a separate stop by Connecticut State Police that evening, Guerrera was allegedly identified as the Crown Victoria’s driver.
An arrest warrant was later issued for Guerrera and he was arrested on Aug. 23, police said.
Guerrera was released on a $40,000 bond. His next court date is Sept. 4 at Superior Court in Derby, according to the state judicial website.
