Seymour K9 officer, K9 win prestigious Daniel Wasson Memorial K9 Award


           K9 Officer David Gallo and K9 Argus 



SEYMOUR - Congratulations to K9 Officer David Gallo and K9 Argus who were recently awarded the Daniel Wasson Memorial K9 Award as well as the Tracking Award from the Connecticut Police Work Dog Association (CPWDA).

Below are descriptions of the incidents that they were recognized for:
Connecticut Police Work Dog Association (CPWDA) have announced the 2022 deployments made in 2022.
Winner for the prestigious Daniel Wasson Memorial K9 Award was Officer David Gallo and K9 Argus of Seymour Police Department.

On 11/8/22 Officer David Gallo and K9 Argus responded to conduct a track for a male suspect who violently assaulted his girlfriend in which he strangled the female then took off on foot after grabbing a steak knife from the kitchen. The suspect had active full extraditable felony warrants and ran into a wooded section.
K9 Argus traded through dense terrain and located the suspect attempting to conceal himself, despite numerous warnings the suspect refused to comply, K9 Argus engaged and apprehended the suspect without injuries to civilians or on scene Officers.
Connecticut Police Work Dog Association (CPWDA) have announced the 2022 deployments made in 2022.

The Tracking Award was won by Officer David Gallo & K9 Argus of the Seymour Police Department.
On 11/8/22 Officer David Gallo and K9 Argus of the Seymour Police Department assisted the Ansonia Police Department in locating a suicidal individual that went missing from a local skate park.On scene officers were unable to locate the individual and Officer Gallo and K9 Argus conducted a track which led into a heavily wooded area, a successful track led officers to the individual who was found still alive with a rope noose tied around his neck and tree. If it had not been for the successful expeditious K9 Track, the individual would have perished.
