Turnback Tuesday visits Derby High School Class of 1912, which had 29 students.
These young adults saw many things happen in 1912. Arizona became the 48th state in February. In March the Girl Scouts were founded.
April brought the sinking of the Titanic as well as Fenway Park opening. May started the Summer Olympics in Stockholm and Woodrow Wilson won the Presidential election in November.
On a sad note, 1912 also saw the deaths of Wilbur Wright and Clara Barton but the birth of Julia Child.
Note: Clara Barton visited Ansonia in 1909.
