'Turnback Tuesday' (on Thursday) features early settlers in Derby

Turnback Tuesday visits one of the first families in Derby.

The Edward Wooster family arrived from Milford to settle Derby. The marker to the right of Edward's is for Phoebe Tomlinson Wooster. She was born to Henry and Alice Tomlinson of Stratford on Aug. 14, 1656. She married Thomas Wooster, son of Edward. Thomas and Phoebe resided just north of his father’s farm. They had six children.

Thanks as always to the Derby Public Library staff for sharing interesting local history each week!
