In a statement late Thursday the NVHD reported: "There was one laboratory confirmed death updated to the district. The decedent was a Seymour resident living in an assisted living facility at the time of death. He was 89 and passed away on Nov. 5. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

The NVHD includes Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Seymour, and Shelton.
