'Turnback Tuesday' features photo of Blizzard of 1888 in Derby

Turnback Tuesday strolls down Main Street during the Blizzard of 1888 a.k.a. The “Great White Hurricane.”
This photo is looking east along Main Street. On the right side is the business Andrew J. Coss Plumbing, located at 188 Main St.
Andrew Coss worked for D.H. Kelly as a plumber before branching out on his own in 1888, moving his business to 178 Main St. in 1890. Coss was a plumber, steam and gas fitter by trade.

Thanks go to Derby Public Library staff for sharing interesting local history each week.
