Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby seeks volunteers

DERBY - Want to make a difference in your community? Enjoy wildlife and the outdoors? Get involved!

Come to the Kellogg Environmental Center from 6:30-7:30 p.m. April 27 to learn about current and new volunteer opportunities.
The Kellogg Environmental Center offers a variety of volunteer and citizen science projects that involve monitoring wildlife, educating the public on environmental issues, and maintaining park trails.

The staff will share the findings of its winter citizen science project, Project FeederWatch, and announce the schedule for its spring and summer volunteer opportunities.
The spring and summer citizen science projects include the Monarch Larvae Monitoring Project focused on the distribution and abundance of breeding monarchs and the Great Sunflower Project focused on bee populations.
Both are good for individuals and families to take part in and to expand their understanding of the environment.
Bring a friend and join us in celebrating the volunteers who make it happen!

This event is free; light refreshments will be served. Register by calling 203-734-2513.

The Kellogg Environmental Center, 500 Hawthorne Ave., is a facility of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
