Griffin Hospital in Derby to host child seat check clinic

DERBY - In recognition of National Child Passenger Safety Week and to raise awareness about Connecticut’s new child passenger safety law, Griffin Hospital’s Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley Coalition will host a free Child Passenger Seat Check Clinic from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday.

The clinic will be held at Griffin’s Community Outreach offices, 4 Mountain St. (across the street from the hospital).
National Child Passenger Safety Week is from Sept. 17-23.

Representatives from Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley and Griffin Hospital, along with state legislators will be present to assist and observe the clinic.
Griffin’s Safe Kids hosts Child Passenger Safety Clinics twice a month to assist families with installation of their car/booster seats.

Through grants from Safe Kids Worldwide, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, and car seat manufacturers like Graco, Griffin is able to provide a free seat to families in need.

Griffin also works with partner organizations, such as TEAM, Inc., VNASCC, WIC, School Readiness Councils, and other organizations to identify families.

This is a press release from Griffin Hospital.
