Derby mayor asks flags in city be lowered to half staff

DERBY -  Mayor Anita Dugatto has asked that all flags in the City of Derby be lowered to half staff effective at 2 p.m. [today] until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 out of respect for the days of the wake and funeral of Past Chief and Deputy Fire Marshal James J. Butler.

“During these next few days, we mourn the loss of a son Derby who was an experienced leader in the Fire Department, a long-time coach, and a dedicated volunteer in Troop 3 Derby Boy Scouts of America. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Butler family as we grieve together.
"May 'JB' rest in peace knowing he served his City and family well," Dugatto said.
