Coloring! for adults! offered at Ansonia, Derby Libraries

Fun activity seen as therapeutic for grown-ups
The coloring craze continues to grow in popularity.
And two libraries in the Valley are providing a place for adults to enjoy the creative activity.

In Ansonia:

Think coloring is just for kids? Think again!
The Ansonia Library will be hosting “Crayons for Grown-Ups” at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 19.
Coloring has recently been touted as the newest stress reliever for adults. Six of the top 20 books on Amazon.com right now are “adult" coloring books.

The books used have more intricate designs and patterns than those designed for children.
Materials and refreshments will be provided.
Come have a fun evening and see what it’s all about!

For more information, call the Ansonia Library, 203-734-6275. The Library is at 53 S. Cliff St.

In Derby:

The Derby Public Library has started a new monthly group.

On the first Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m., adults are invited to come and join the coloring craze - it’s not just for kids any more!

The February session will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1.

Coloring sheets, along with crayons and colored pencils, are provided but you are also welcome to bring your own materials.
This simple activity provides social, mental health, and creative benefits. Relaxing music and light snacks are included.

No specific skills or preparation needed, just a desire to relax and de-stress.
Registration is requested.

For more information, stop by the Library at 313 Elizabeth St., call 203-736-1482, or visit www.derbypubliclibrary.org.
