Beacon Falls Library to host talk on Civil War spies

BEACON FALLS - American military historian Matthew Bartlett will present a program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday about female spies during the Civil War. 

The program will be held in the Town Hall assembly room, 10 Maple Ave.



Bartlett will focus on four women who risked all for their country during the Civil War.
He will tell how these women played an important part in the extensive spy networks that were formed on both the Union and Confederate sides.

Bartlett is the author of the series of books on the Battle of Gettysburg, “The Gettysburg Chronicle.”

He has a Master’s of Military History degree with a specialization in Civil War Studies from the American Military University.
