HAPPY 160th BIRTHDAY to The Salvation Army!

On this day in 1865, the first meeting of The Salvation Army took place in a white tent on an old Quaker burial mound in the east end of London!

Thank you William and Catherine Booth for responding to God's call all those many years ago.

We thank God for our global movement that's currently operating in 134 countries! To God be the Glory!

'Turnback Tuesday' (on Wednesday) features arrowheads found in Derby

Turnback Tuesday is showing a couple of the Arrowheads from our collection.

Native American arrowheads are small objects attached to the end of a shaft or arrow to be used during hunting, warfare or ceremonial activities.

In Connecticut, Native Americans made arrowheads out of various stone.

These included quartz, chert, flint, and rhyolite. Quartz was a common material particularly on the Housatonic River. Chert and flint were imported to Connecticut. Different tribes had their own unique style or design.

These (2) images of arrowheads were found in Derby.
