Griffin Hospital in Derby to host Music in Motion presentation

DERBY – The Community Health Resource Center at Griffin Hospital will host an innovative presentation on the health benefits of music and motion at 6 p.m. April 25.

Music in Motion: A Celebration of Wellness is a free event that offers an immersive experience of simple, low-impact exercise and rejuvenation through the combination of relaxing melodies, movement, and expert medical advice.

The event will feature live, symphony-level performances by Aimee Toner, a distinguished flutist and graduate of the prestigious New England Conservatory, and Gretchen Frazier, a talented and experienced violinist who has performed with esteemed orchestras including the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Charleston Symphony.

The performances will be followed by guided yoga, meditation sessions and information from pulmonologist Dr. K. Marya Chaisson.

All of these features will provide invaluable insights into improving and maintaining cardiovascular health.
