This is the text of Seymour First Selectwoman Annmarie Drugonis' COVID testing kit update today via Code Red:
"This morning we received a smaller than anticipated allotment of COVID testing kits from the State.
Given the extremely limited number of testing kits available, we are asking that only those currently experiencing symptoms come to the distribution event.
That drive-through event will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 4 from 5-7 p.m. at Seymour High School. Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or addressed piece of mail, will be required to receive a test. Each vehicle will be given one box with two tests inside.
There is an even more limited supply of testing kits will be reserved for the medically vulnerable. If you are medically vulnerable, please reach out to my office at (203) 888-2511, extension 2.
There will not be enough testing kits for everyone. Both the event tomorrow and the testing kits reserved for the medically vulnerable will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. We understand that it is very difficult to find a test at the moment. We ask that you look out for your neighbors and consider those who are at elevated risk.
We appreciate your continue patience, understanding and partnership."
