Derby Historical Society to host autumn open hearth cooking event

ANSONIA - The Derby Historical Society will host its Autumn Open Hearth event from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. 

There will be a raffle of an American Girl Wellie Wisher, courtesy of Heather’s Korner, and a set of four tickets to the Nov. 22 Huskies vs. Providence Hockey Game at the XL Center in Hartford.

There will be tours of the circa 1698 museum house and Dutch oven baking demonstrations. There is a great gift shop filled with little treasures, including handmade clothes for all  American Girl Doll needs.

Suggested donation is $5 per adult; children under the age of 5 are admitted free.
