Nashville Drive to perform Tuesday at Jackson Cove in Oxford


OXFORD - Nashville Drive will perform from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson Cove, 26 Jackson Cove Road.
The band showcases originals and pays tribute to some of today’s top country favorites. 
Bring your lawn chairs, pack your picnic baskets and come sit back, relax and enjoy great music in this beautiful setting. (No Alcohol Please)
Light refreshments will be for sale.

Silver Steel Band to perform Tuesday on Derby Green


DERBY - Silver Steel Band will bring Caribbean style music to the gazebo on the Derby Green from 7- 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The steel drum band also plays Soca and Calypso styled music from Trinidad and Tobago.The award-winning band is based in Bridgeport. 

All In for Seymour community conversation to focus on education

SEYMOUR - Join us at the Seymour Community Center Bingo Room at 6 p.m. Aug. 22 for a Dinner & Community Conversation around EDUCATION.
Come participate in a community discussion focused on education and explore ways for the community to get involved. 
We’ll also share insights into the efforts of the Bungay [Elementary School] building committee. Children aged 5 and older will engage in their own community conversation in a separate area. 
We’re excited for both groups to exchange their thoughts with each other at the conclusion of the event!
Dinner has generously been donated by Alberto’s in Seymour.

Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center to host moonlight hike


Moonlight Hike: Sunday, Aug.18, 8 p.m.

Enjoy an evening with your family during this moonlight hike, allowing us to view the Sturgeon Moon. The Native American fishing tribes are credited for naming this Moon since sturgeon, a large Great Lakes fish, was most readily caught during this month. 


Join our staff on a hike in our meadows to watch for this reddish moon. Each child must be accompanied by an adult.
