Cassetti announces outdoor dining to begin May 20 in Ansonia

Sharing Ansonia Mayor David S. Cassetti's message on Saturday:

"Good Evening Residents of the great City of Ansonia.

"After a long and difficult two months it looks as though the light is beginning to shine even brighter as we near the end of the tunnel and we begin to return to the way things SHOULD be. I hope that you have all weathered this storm and are stronger because of it.

"As we navigate our way through this endless list of laws and regulations, with new ones enacted daily, our restaurants are going to be allowed to open their doors and serve patrons outdoors with outdoor dining being permitted on May 20 along with the continuation of take out service. We are working on a plan with the state’s approval to close down Main Street to allow our restaurants and businesses to spread out into the street keeping patrons and tables six feet apart. I am working with our neighboring communities of Derby and Seymour and city and town staff to prepare a plan for this new outdoor arrangement. Stay tuned for that announcement.

"City government and staff will work together on a plan that will move city staff back to city hall with appointment only visits and staff shifts after Memorial Day.

"On another positive note, I am pleased to announce the re-opening of parks, riverwalks and fishing on Wednesday, May 20. Of course everyone is required to maintain a six-foot distance and wear face coverings when in the public. We are trying to resume normal activities, but must be careful and diligent about staying safe and healthy.

"Please know that I am looking forward to a vibrant and bustling city once again and I am looking forward to seeing all of you very soon.

"Thank you and God Bless you all."

Rochelle offers information on May 20 reopening of state

Connecticut is taking a gradual approach to reopening the state.

Thanks to the social distancing measures we put in place and near universal cooperation, we have seen a daily decline in hospitalizations across the state. Next Wednesday, May 20, the first set of businesses will be allowed to reopen.  In order to protect our most vulnerable peers, it is crucial that this is done safely and deliberately. Documents containing the rules for the first phase of reopening have been published on the state's coronavirus website - ct.gov/coronavirus - and are available to download directly at these links: Hair Salons & Barbershops Museums and Zoos (Outdoor Only) Offices Restaurants (Outdoor Only) Retail & Malls All businesses subject to these rules will be required to self-certify prior to opening on May 20. We've had to drastically shift and adjust the ways we provide client services to maintain the highest safety standards during this crisis. But our mission to help children live and lead healthy lives remains steadfast.

The Parent Child Resource Center provides guidance with innovative, creative and evidence-based programs. 
We guide children with school and help them become hopeful, confident, and secure. We work with their parents, teachers and caregivers to ensure what they’ve learned at PCRC is reinforced throughout their daily life.
