ANSONIA - Mayor David S. Cassetti and his administration are so proud to hear about the amazing splash Ansonia's own, Matthew Torres, is making in the pool at the Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru!
This week Matt Torres picked up two gold medals in Lima! 
The first earned on the first day of competition in the men’s 100 breaststroke S8 and the second when he finished in first place in the men’s 400-meter freestyle S9/S8. 
Matthew's 400-meter freestyle S9/S8 time set a new Parapan American record in the process!

One of the four bronze medals Matthew Torres earned was for his efforts in the men’s 4x100 medley relay team!

27th annual CT Folk Fest & Green Expo slated Saturday in New Haven

NEW HAVEN - The 27th annual CT Folk Fest & Green Expo, a celebration held in Edgerton Park, will be held from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday.

The event includes live music from regional to national headliners, local food trucks, and Connecticut's largest Green Expo highlighting more than 75 artisans, exhibitors, and non-profit organizations.

The Green Kids Village is open from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and hosts an Acoustic Corner of emerging local artists, all day workshops, and activities for families to enjoy.

The Green Expo is dedicated to creating an unforgettable experience within an emphasis on sustainability and earth-friendly practices including a Zero-Waste plan and a water fill station sponsored by Regional Water Authority.

Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton puts book donations on hold

"Due to the upcoming renovation at Plumb Memorial Library, as of Sept. 13 we are no longer accepting book and media donations until further notice. 
The Friends of the Shelton Libraries will also not be having their annual October book sale this year but plan to be back with the spring sale next year!
