Donate to St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop in Derby, support nonprofit's food bank

DERBY - Donations are welcome from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop and Food Bank, 237 Roosevelt Drive. 

In and out of season clothing, shoes, holiday items, decor, domestics, art, collectibles, kitchen tools, small appliances, and more are all appreciated. Gently used items only please - would you give it to a friend? If yes, we'd love to have it! 

Feel free to ask for a receipt. Call us about furniture 203-734-7577 and please don't leave items outside when we are closed.

Teen Taker-Maker Space slated at Derby Public Library


DERBY - Derby Public Library invites young adults up to age 17 to a virtual gathering of the Teen Taker-Maker Space at 3:30 p.m. March 18. 

Tweens ages 10 and 11 are also welcome. 


Kits are limited to the first four registrants. Pickup of Solar Spider kits will be coordinated by phone. 


Zoom access links to this event will be provided via email three days prior to meeting date.

Seymour Public Library to host Food Explorers

SEYMOUR - Join Katie, registered dietitian from Food Explorers, at 4:30 p.m. March 12 to make homemade pretzel bites! 
This event is hosted by Seymour Public Library.
You’ll make and knead your own dough and form them into bite-sized pretzels. 
You’ll need the following ingredients: self-rising flour, plain Greek yogurt, baking soda, butter and salt.
This program is limited to 12 families;  registration is required. Please follow the link to register for the program.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
