Author of 'They Called Her Reckless' to visit Derby Neck Library

DERBY - Author Janet Barrett will visit Derby Neck Library at 6:30 p.m. Thursday to talk about her book, "They Called Her Reckless."

Come and discover the story of Reckless, a small pony that hauled ammunition to the front lines during the Korean War and the Marines that named her.

"From the moment she heard about Reckless, Janet Barrett knew she would write this book. Her experiences as a horsewoman gave her a particular appreciation for the tight bond that developed between Reckless and her fellow Marines, from which the story springs."

The Library is at 307 Hawthorne Ave.
