Students host prom for senior citizens at Ansonia High School

I was pleasantly surprised to be escorted to Thursday's prom at Ansonia High School by Derby High School junior Queshon McDaniel.
I arrived to cover the event and immediately was greeted by several polite and respectful students.
The students who hosted the prom are members of Human Relations Clubs from Ansonia, Derby, and Shelton high schools as well as from Eli Whitney Technical High School in Hamden.

Roof being replaced at Salvation Army HQ in Ansonia

The roof on The Salvation Army Greater Valley building, 26 Lester St., Ansonia, is being replaced this week by workers from Beacon Falls-based DiGiorgi Roofing and Siding, Inc.

My husband, Ralph, and I are on the Advisory Board and we'd like to remind folks the Salvation Army's third annual Recognition Breakfast will be held April 28 at Molto Bene Italian American Kitchen, 557 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia.

Hope to see you there!
It's a great event to support an organization that serves our neediest neighbors.
